Most things in Stampo are tap-it-and-see, but here's the cheat sheet.
Quick start
- Tap the camera tab in the Dynamic Island to expand the shutter.
- Tap the shutter — the photo prints out as a stamp and lands on your canvas.
- Drag, pinch, and rotate the stamp to place it wherever feels right.
- Tap a stamp to zoom in. Flip it to see when it was captured.
FAQ
Where are my photos stored?
Everything is stored locally on your device via SwiftData. Nothing is uploaded to a server. If you delete the app, you delete the canvas.
Can I export or save a stamp to my Photos library?
Not in v1.0. Export to Photos and shareable canvas snapshots are on the near-term roadmap. Tell us if you want it sooner.
Why does the camera need permission?
Stampo only uses the camera when you tap the shutter inside the app. The permission prompt is the standard iOS one — denying it disables capture but the rest of the app still works for browsing existing stamps.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone running iOS 26 or later. The Dynamic Island camera experience requires a Dynamic Island-equipped iPhone. iPhone 17 Pro gets the buttery 120fps treatment.
How do I delete a stamp?
Long-press the stamp on the canvas and choose Delete. Deleting is permanent — there's no trash bin in v1.0.
Is there iCloud sync?
Not yet. We're being deliberate about adding it — the local-first feel is part of what makes Stampo Stampo. iCloud sync is on the roadmap as an opt-in.
Will more frames be added?
Yes. Postage and Polaroid ship at launch, and new frames roll out with updates. We take suggestions.
How much does it cost?
Stampo is free to download and includes the camera, canvas, and Polaroid frame. Stampo Pro unlocks every frame (current and future), export to Photos, and iCloud canvas sync.
Pro is available three ways: $2.99/month, $19.99/year with a 7-day free trial (save 44%), or a one-time $39.99 lifetime unlock. Prices shown in USD; the App Store sets the price in your local currency across 175 territories.
How does the 7-day free trial work?
The Annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged for the first week. To avoid being billed, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. If you cancel during the trial, Pro stays active until the trial period ends.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, and choose Stampo. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal but keeps Plus active through the period you've already paid for.
What happens if I let my subscription lapse?
You keep your canvas, your stamps, and any photos you've already captured — they're stored locally. Premium frames revert to a locked preview until you renew. The free Polaroid frame, the camera, and arranging the canvas always work.
Can I restore a purchase on a new iPhone?
Yes. Tap Restore Purchases on the Stampo Plus screen. Lifetime and active subscriptions are tied to your Apple ID and work across your devices, including via Family Sharing for the lifetime tier.
