Terms of Use

Welcome to Karavoke (the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The App

Karavoke displays time‑synced song lyrics on iPhone surfaces (home screen widget, lock screen, Dynamic Island, and CarPlay through Apple's Live Activity bridge). The App identifies the song that is currently playing using a combination of Apple MusicKit, ShazamKit, and the Spotify iOS SDK — depending on which source you select in onboarding or Settings.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Karavoke. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your Apple ID and third‑party accounts

Some features require you to authenticate with Apple Music or Spotify. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We never see, store, or transmit your passwords; authentication happens directly between your device and those services.

4. Subscriptions and in‑app purchases

Karavoke is free to download and includes optional in‑app purchases that unlock additional features and remove identification limits. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and are billed to your Apple ID per Apple's standard terms. Subscriptions auto‑renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.

Refunds are handled by Apple. Please see Apple's refund process if you need a refund.

5. Acceptable use

• Use the App safely. Do not interact with the App while driving in a way that distracts from the road.
• Do not reverse‑engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App, except where local law expressly permits.
• Do not use the App to infringe anyone's intellectual‑property rights or to violate any law.

6. Lyrics content

Lyric text displayed by Karavoke is sourced from third‑party lyric providers (currently LRCLib, with the option to integrate licensed providers over time). Karavoke does not claim ownership of the lyric text and credits remain with the original songwriters and rights holders. If you believe a lyric we display infringes your rights, please email hanifsgy@gmail.com and we will investigate and remove or replace it where appropriate.

7. Microphone access

If you choose Shazam as your identification source, the App listens to a short audio sample through your iPhone's microphone in order to fingerprint the song. The audio sample is processed on‑device by Apple's ShazamKit framework and is not uploaded by Karavoke. You may disable microphone access at any time in iOS Settings.

8. Intellectual property

The App, its design, its source code, and its trademarks (including the name “Karavoke”) are owned by the developer. You receive a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non‑commercial purposes on devices you own or control.

9. Third‑party trademarks

Apple, Apple Music, CarPlay, Dynamic Island, iPhone, ShazamKit, and Live Activities are trademarks of Apple Inc. Spotify is a trademark of Spotify AB. Karavoke is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. or Spotify AB. Those names appear only to describe compatibility.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the App after the change indicates acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the developer's country of residence, without regard to its conflict‑of‑laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
